Equipment Overview
The Central New York's Near-Real-Time Surface Water Quality Network is maintaining robotic water quality monitoring systems in several Central New York State lakes, a major river and tributary. The robots allow 24/7 remote monitoring of the water. Water quality parameters are measured by probe packages associated with each robot. Data are transferred via cellular phone modem, landline modem or satellite uplink to a shore basestation. Details of the robots, and probe packages can be found in the following pages.
